Join me and a small group of kiters for an epic week in a magical resort in Tatajuba, Brazil in October 2021. It’s windy every day and the flat water makes this place a world-class destination for kite coaching. We’ll stay at the best accommodation in Tatajuba- the gorgeous Casa Santa Maria! It’s located a stone’s throw away from the beach and equipped with all the luxuries your heart could ever desire -- a fantastic kitchen, friendly staff, a strong masseur, warm pool and much more. The resort and my team will cater to all of our needs so we can focus on progression and enjoying the time together. I’m super excited to host an event at this amazing location! Insane progression awaits!

Luxury Kite Clinic

8 days in Tatajuba, Brazil
7 - 14 October 2021

More than just a kite trip

The goal of this clinic is to bring passionate kiters together in a fun, collaborative environment to work on being the best versions of ourselves. It’s a trip in which we will progress as kiters, push ourselves to learn new things, both on and off the water, and possibly even walk away with life-long friendships.

There are only 6 spots in the clinic so we’ll be a nice small group and I’ll be sure to give you plenty of personal coaching attention.

The best accommodation - seriously

I dream of some day owning an accommodation that is this beautiful, relaxing and inviting! From the friendly, accommodating team running the ecolodge, to the immaculate facilities, this spot is nothing short of amazing. Foodies, be warned! Luciano, the in-house chef, is going to cook up a storm!

The best food

We’re going to be kiting for hours every day, so we’ve got to make sure we’re putting tasty, nutritious food in our bellies! We will have 3 meals a day -- some at the in-house restaurant and also some excursions to the exciting restaurants around the village.

Radio coaching

We use BBTalkin radios so that we can talk to each other whilst you’re on the water. I give you exactly the advice you need, right when you need it!

Theory sessions

It’s my job to take years of trial and error and share the optimal path for you to progress. I communicate the lessons I’ve learnt along my journey in many different ways. One of the most important ways to learn is in the classroom, before we hit the water! Once you’re truly able to understand something, you’re much more capable of doing it. I’ve got a presentation to break down every fundamental of big air kiting, from edging, to take off, to heli loops, kiteloops, gear selection and more.

Video Analysis

Not only will my camera-man film sick clips for you to remember this amazing trip, but we will also dissect every detail of your kiting to find out what we’re doing well, what we’re doing wrong and figure out the path to progress. Seeing yourself making the mistakes is a crucial part of learning new skills.

Transport to and from the clinic is included

We will pick up you and the other shredders from the airport the morning the clinic starts and get you straight to the spot so you can get a session in. The Toyota Fortuner 4x4’s will leave from Parnaiba and Fortaleza airport at scheduled times. If these times don’t work for you, we will help you book your transport to the spot with our partner (not included in the clinic)

The perfect conditions for you to progress

Check out my KOTA entry video. Most of the kiting in the video is filmed in Tatajuba! Flat water and wind every single day. If that’s not a recipe for progress, I don’t know what is! I spend most days on my 8 meter XR. Please consult this table to see what kites you should bring.

By the way, we’re also going to visit some neighboring big air spots in buggies, like Camocim and Guriu! They’re so sick! I can’t wait to show them to you!

These sizes are assuming you are riding a bow/delta kite (CORE XR, Duotone Rebel/Evo, Naish Pivot, Ozone Edge, North Orbit). If you are riding a more C-shaped kite like a GTS, Nexus, Dice, etc. then you can add 1 meter to the sizes you see below.

Insane progression awaits! Even my camera-man has jumped 30m

Michal first came to me for coaching in September 2019. At the time, he was kiting pretty well! Jumping around 10-12m I’d say. He had a lot of time on his hands and was eager to progress. Since I found him to be such a great guy, we bro’d down big time and started traveling together. I proceeded to coach him and he, being the natural he is, absorbed every bit of info I could give to him. Since he was already a keen photographer, he started filming me more and more often. 1 thing led to another and he became my full-time camera-man. Throughout our journey, he has continued to progress at his videography and his kiting. Nowadays he is editing many of my YouTube videos, jumping 20-30m all the time and sending massive loops! I am super grateful to have him as my right hand man! You’re going to love hanging with the man! I’m so proud of him and his progress! His progression is testimony to what happens when you combine effort with good direction. I view progress along any path as 2 things: 1, the gas in the tank that powers you along the road and 2, the directions you take in your journey. I’m here to offer you directions. Meet me with your best effort and we’re going to do great together!

How you get there

UPDATED*

You fly to Fortaleza (5 hours from clinic), Jericoacoara (1.5 hours from clinic) or Parnaiba (2 hours from clinic) Airports. We are giving you transport to and from all airports.

Fortaleza is the furthest from Tatajuba, but there are more flights going there. Although it’s a further drive from Fortaleza, the drive is actually pretty chilled and the car is comfortable, with plenty of space and AC. I’ve done the transfer a couple times and it’s not bad at all!

You can also rent an affordable car at one of the airports and drive to the clinic if it’s more convenient for you.

  • Fortaleza transfer leaves at 09:00
  • Parnaiba transfer leaves at 12:30
  • Jericoacoara transfer leaves at 13:00

The game-plan!

We’ve made this itinerary to make sure that we’ve got time for work, play and personal time. We understand that you’ve got work and other things to do, so feel free to jump in and out whenever you like. We aren’t doing anything special on the first day. I just want you to get to the spot, settle in and get into the water.

Try the latest CORE gear

I bring extra XR’s and bars to my clinic so you can see what all the fuss is about. I’ve heard people say that great riders could even shred on an IKEA bag, but that simply isn’t true. We’re talking about highly technical, aerodynamic wings at the end of the day and some of them are simply better than others. CORE is not the only great kite out there, don’t get me wrong. I’ve enjoyed riding other kites, but I choose to ride CORE because I’ve found the performance and the quality of the gear beats everything else I’ve ever ridden. If you’re looking to ride the best gear, I’m happy to give you the opportunity! I still ask that you bring all your own gear, as there is limited demo gear available and we have to share.

Bring your significant other

You are welcome to bring your significant other to this trip. I understand that your time is precious and you may well want to share these amazing times with your loved one. However, if your partner wants to join for the coaching as well, please shoot me a mail so we can arrange that.

FAQS

If you are flying to the US after Brazil, you only need to get an antigen test with test certificate. These are easy to get. You can get one at the airport in Fortaleza (takes 25 minutes).

If you need a PCR test, I have a nurse who can come to us at the clinic and invade your nostrils at your convenience.

There is also RT-PCR testing in Sao Paolo and Rio De Janeiro airport. It takes up to 4 hours to get your results. See a list of test centers here.

As long as you are able to ride independently and you aren’t a total beginner, you will find immense value in joining the clinic.

Yes the internet is pretty reliable. If something goes wrong with the internet (unlikely), we’ll drive you into town 20 minutes away to get connected.

If you are not allowed to enter Brazil due to Brazil closing borders, you will receive a full refund.

If your country is not permitting you to travel due to border closures within your country, you will receive a partial refund of $1500.

If you are not able to make it to the clinic due to your flight being canceled, or due to you getting COVID prior to travel, you will not receive any refund. You may wish to fly to Brazil a day or 2 earlier to hedge against this (unlikely) possibility.

That being said, I have been traveling throughout COVID (USA, Mexico, Brazil, Kenya, Spain, Italy, France, South Africa etc.) and I have not had a single flight canceled, except for during March 2020. My friends have also been traveling with great success. I think we are past those days, thankfully.

This may sound harsh, but please be aware that even if you are not able to make it, I still have to pay my staff and the resort to run this clinic. Your kind understanding is much appreciated.

Most countries do not require a visa to enter Brazil for tourism for stays of up to 90 days. Please give it a quick search.

All meals are included, so depending on whether or not you would like to purchase anything, you may want to budget on $5-$20 US per day.

Appliances in Brazil have plugs like this. The voltage is 110 in some parts and 220v in others. Be prepared for both.

It’s best to bring cash in Brazilian Reais.
